Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber, while performing at the Summerburst Festival in Stockholm, dodged a flying water bottle that was thrown at him, after he told the audience that he could not sing the song Despacito.

The song, which has been topping the charts on the Billboard Hot 100, features Bieber as one of its singers.

The main problem? It is primarily in Spanish and Bieber still does not know the lyrics, which he admitted to the audience after someone in the crowd requested that he performed the track, the Daily Mail Online reported on Tuesday (June 13).

"I can't do Despacito, I don't even know it," Bieber told the audience.

While some members of the audience continued to cheer, one threw a bottle at Bieber, which just missed his head.

The performer took the incident in stride, however, saying calmly: "Don't throw things at me, please."

Bieber's behaviour has certainly changed since 2016, when he dropped the microphone and walked off stage at a concert in Manchester after asking fans to stop screaming in-between his songs.

This is not the first time Despacito has left the 23-year-old star tongue-tied.

On May 23 , Bieber made a special appearance at a concert in New York where he attempted to sing the song, ETOnline reported.

However, he acknowledged that he did not know the words midway through the performance, singing: "I don't know the words so I say, 'Dorito'. I don't know the words so I say, 'Poquito'", instead of the Spanish lyrics.

In another instance, he sang "Bababababababa" in place of the chorus.
