SINGAPORE - It looks like there is going to be one less lonely girl, thanks to Justin Bieber.
Canadian singer Bieber, 24, proposed to model Hailey Baldwin, 21, daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, in the Bahamas on Saturday (July 7) after a whirlwind rekindled romance. The duo have dated on and off in the past.
E! News reported that he went down on one knee in front of a crowd at an island resort called Baker's Bay. TMZ added that he popped the question at a restaurant and all patrons were asked to turn their phones off.
E! News also quoted a source as saying: "The proposal was a very happy moment and Hailey was taken off guard...her face was in shock but you could tell they are both so in love."
It is unclear how much the popstar spent on the massive, oval-shaped diamond that Baldwin was spotted wearing the next day around the island.
In a lengthy note posted on Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday, Bieber confirmed the engagement.
"You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn't want to spend it with anybody else," he wrote in the note that was shared with two black and white pictures of the newly-engaged couple, who have been dubbed #jailey.
In the note, he also confirmed that they were engaged on "the seventh day of the seventh month, the number seven is the number of spiritual perfection, it's true GOOGLE IT".
Both are religious, attending the same evangelical, praise music- and worship-based church Hillsong.
Baldwin also tweeted: "Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with! No words could ever express my gratitude."
Baldwin appeared to be going out with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes when they debuted on the red carpet at the Met Gala in May this year, but she reunited with Bieber in June in Miami. Bieber's most prominent relationship was with on-and-off again ex-girlfriend, American singer Selena Gomez.
