SINGAPORE - A "serious" show about a family living in a Housing Board flat does not mean it has to be "sad", says actress Yeo Yann Yann.

In an HBO Original series to be released later this year, Yeo, 42, plays a single mother of an autistic son, played by Taiwanese actor Devin Pan. Her character earns a living working at a drink stall.
