SINGAPORE - Home-grown actress Jayley Woo has left Mediacorp as a full-time artist, which means that she will take on acting roles with the broadcaster in the future on a project basis instead.

In a press release sent out on Tuesday (July 3) afternoon, the 26-year-old was quoted as saying that the new arrangement would give her the chance to take on more potential overseas opportunities.

She said: "Taking a project approach will allow me more flexibility to do different things. I'm taking some acting classes and will focus on improving my craft.

"There are some opportunities to collaborate with China but it is still not final at the moment. Many things are still in talks and I'm really looking forward to them happening."

Woo, who made her acting debut in the local drama Jump! in 2012, has since become a familiar face on Channel 8 with major roles in dramas such as Have A Little Faith (2017) and Life Less Ordinary (2017 - 2018).

Looking ahead, she will next be seen in the Channel 8 drama Jalan Jalan, which begins shooting this month, as well as the Toggle series Glitch in November.
