SINGAPORE - Trumpeter Lau Wen Rong hated music lessons as a child. Then he heard the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) play when he was seven and fell in love with classical music. Now he is one of the youngest and newest members of the orchestra and plays at its 40th anniversary gala concert on Jan 18 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

"This is my dream job," says the 28-year-old Singaporean, who has played full-time with the orchestra since 2017.
