Melbourne is only the third city in the world to get the rights to stage this two-part play, which has won multiple Tony and Olivier Awards since it first opened in London in July 2016. The New York staging opened in April 2018.

MELBOURNE - Something magical is happening in the East End theatre district of Melbourne.
At the 132-year-old Princess Theatre in Spring Street, dragons look down from the rooftops and the carpeted interior sports a monogrammed "H" familiar to many who grew up on the books and movies of the Harry Potter series.
