Community choirs are flying the Singapore flag in global competitions

SINGAPORE - While some people take their children to work, Ms Dawn Yin takes her toddlers to choir practice and competitions in Europe.

The 37-year-old school conductor started singing in local choir ONE Chamber Choir (ONE) when it was founded in 2009. At the time, the choir had just 18 members. Today, that number has grown to more than 40 - not including the children who tag along.
