Social advocate Cassandra Chiu lost her vision due to Stargardt disease at the age of eight, and took more than a year to write her memoir, A Place For Us.

SINGAPORE - Cassandra Chiu has been chased out of shops and restaurants, had taxis drive off without her and a drink thrown on her - all while going about her daily life like a normal person.
The key difference is that she is blind.
