Does Taylor Swift actually perform live? Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl suggested maybe not.

It used to be mad love, but there may now be bad blood between Taylor Swift and Dave Grohl.
The Foo Fighters frontman, who previously said he was “obsessed” with Swift, appeared to have taken a jab at the American pop star during his band’s concert at London Stadium on June 22, implying she does not perform live.
In a clip that has circulated widely on social media platform X, Grohl reportedly made the comments after mentioning Swift’s The Eras Tour was also taking place in London, at Wembley Stadium.
The former Nirvana drummer said on stage: “I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
“So, we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’,” he added.
“We’ve had more than a few eras and, more than a few... errors as well. Just a couple.”
Grohl then said: “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying.”
His line has, predictably, invoked the wrath of Swifties on X.
“Just another man bringing up her name for attention,” said user @cowboylikezain, commenting on the clip.
Some Swift diehards went directly to Foo Fighters’ X account – where the band have 3.2 million followers – to voice their displeasure. Swift has 95.2 million followers on the platform.
“Too bad y’all can’t get a full stadium to watch you ‘play live’,” said user @knewhewasak.
“You don’t have to drag a women because you can’t sell stadiums like the Wembly anymore (sic),” said @s3egiogonzalez.
The comments come as a surprise to some, given Grohl has praised Swift in the past and even dedicated the Foo Fighters song Congregation to her at a concert during a music festival in Britain in 2015.
“I’m officially obsessed. She might want to get a restraining order because I’m all about Swift,” Grohl said at the BBC Radio Big 1 weekend then.
Some fans believe his latest comments are linked to an incident earlier in 2024, when his daughter, Violet, was harassed online by Swifties after criticising the singer’s private jet use.
Swift performed on June 23 for the last of her three shows in June at Wembley Stadium. She will tour seven other European countries and return to London in August for another five dates to end the European leg of The Eras Tour.
From March 2 to 9, she performed six sold-out shows at the National Stadium in Singapore, drawing about 300,000 fans from the Republic and around the region, as she became the first solo act to stage six shows at the venue on a single tour.
