SINGAPORE – Vietnam, in recent years, has become a top regional destination among Singapore travellers, as evidenced by hundreds of thousands of social media posts on platforms like TikTok and Lemon8 as well as exponential growth in tourism receipts.
In 1990, the country generated just 1.34 billion dong in tourism revenue, according to the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT). In 2010, this figure had climbed to 355 trillion dong. And by 2024, tourism revenue hit 840 trillion dong (S$40.6 billion).
