MACAU – Often dubbed the “Las Vegas of Asia”, Macau is known for its high-stakes gambling, glamorous entertainment and opulent resorts. But, with my limited interest in card games and the city’s strong association with gambling, it never struck me as a top destination.

Yet, when I visited Macau in April, I was pleasantly surprised. Beyond its reputation, Macau is a cultural melting pot, blending Chinese influences with its Portuguese colonial heritage.
