JAPAN – Popular Japanese cities Osaka and Kyoto have made the spotlight in recent years for overtourism. Whether you are on the prowl for seafood at Kuromon Ichiba Market in Osaka or admiring autumn leaves at Buddhist temple Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, there is almost always a flock of foreigners to jostle with.
From April 13 to Oct 13, Osaka will draw even more crowds as host city of the World Expo 2025. This year’s theme, Designing Future Society For Our Lives, will showcase the latest in global science and technological innovation, as well as international cultures from the participating 158 countries and regions, including Japan and Singapore.
