Stroll among giant trees and savour world-class wineries in the South West
Visitors are drawn to the South West, one of WA’s most popular regions, for two main reasons – Pemberton and Margaret River. The former strikes awe with its giant karri trees, measuring up to 90m in height, while the latter is famed for its excellent wines and sophisticated dining scene.
Adding to Margaret River’s allure is the Pair’d festival from Nov 14 to 17, which will showcase the region’s finest wines, produce and culture through immersive experiences from beach clubs to Michelin-starred dinners.

A good place to experience the best of the South West is Ampersand Estates – Australia’s first single-harvest distillery. Offering luxury accommodations set amid stunning scenery, it features beautifully crafted wines and has won awards for its sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir.

Go off the beaten path with 4xploring Rentals, which provides vehicles for rent, perfect for off-road adventures. Some of the best four-wheel-drive (4WD) beaches such as Cheynes, Yeagarup and Peppermint Grove, boast pristine sands and sublime views of turquoise waters and distant islands.

Watch dreamy landscapes unfurl along the Coral Coast
WA’s Coral Coast stretches 1,250km north from Perth to Exmouth, featuring breathtaking landscapes, wildflowers and rare wildlife, all leading to the world’s largest fringing reef, Ningaloo.
Make a short detour to one of the many coastal towns. Jurien Bay, a relaxed seaside getaway within a protected marine park, is a vital habitat for the endangered Australian sea lion. You can see these adorable marine creatures up close or even swim alongside them by booking a tour with an experienced company like Jurien Bay Oceanic.
Just over two hours north of Perth in Cervantes, The Lobster Shack offers 90-minute sea lion tours to the Cervantes Islands, where you can watch these playful creatures somersault through turquoise waters. For the adventurous, there is an option to snorkel with these rare sea lions, followed by fresh lobster lunch back at the restaurant.

Another popular stop is Geraldton, a lively waterfront escape with world-class beaches and a wide variety of water sports. From surfing to diving, jetskiing to wakeboarding, you can find it all here.
Favourable wind conditions also make it an ideal spot for wind and kite surfing. Fishing enthusiasts will be delighted by the rich catches – book with Blue Juice Charter for luxury eco-adventures and fishing trips.
A scenic flight will also take you to Hutt Lagoon, one of Australia’s famous pink lakes. Its hue changes from bubblegum pink to lilac to red depending on the time and season, making it a truly jaw-dropping sight.

Catch a glimpse of kangaroos on the shore in Australia’s Golden Outback
Where better to celebrate nature’s wonders than the Golden Outback? Home to the world’s largest wildflower species, the region boasts more than 12,000 flora variants, with more than half unique to Western Australia. June to November sees them bursting into bloom, turning this vast region into a stunning floral tapestry.
Summer brings its own glories, particularly in a place known for its pure white beaches. The most famous of them all is Lucky Bay, which was named the world’s best beach last year. With its pristine white sand, aquamarine waters and friendly resident kangaroos, it is easy to see why.

Hikers will delight in Cape Le Grand National Park and its wealth of bushwalking trails that lead to great views of rocky granite outcrops and the Recherche Archipelago. This year, the town of Esperance launched a hiking festival, Grounded.
Set to run for three days every September, this event has something for everyone, from beginners to veterans, and highlights carefully crafted trails, including Frenchman Peak, Rossiter Bay to Lucky Bay, Kepwari Wetlands, Lucky Bay to Thistle Cove and the Great Ocean Walk.

Head off the beaten track in the rugged North West
The North West region is one of the world’s last wildernesses, famous for its rich Aboriginal history and ethereal beauty. In its northwest corner lies The Kimberley, with surreal landscapes such as the giant striped beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range.

A great way to experience the area is to book a cruise with Eclipse Expeditions. Here, you can enjoy the coastline in all of its wild, untamed beauty, complete with misty waterfalls, giant Boab trees and Indigenous art hidden in rocky crevices.

For those seeking an escape, the Mackerel Islands are the perfect getaway. Of the 10 islands, Direction and Thevenard offer accommodation. Visitors can dive, snorkel and go for eco-walks but many are there for the chance to catch a glimpse of the sea turtles, which breed, nest and hatch there during the summer months.
Destination Perth
Perth and its surroundings need little introduction to many of us. The city’s laidback vibe has acquired a cosmopolitan sheen in recent years, attracting visitors with its lively parks, chic cafes, pristine beaches and a jazzed-up culinary scene.

Swan Valley, only 25 minutes away from Perth, remains a favourite among visitors for its wineries and restaurants. Alternatively, experience something different on your next visit with a bee safari tour at The House of Honey. Visit the hives, participate in a workshop and taste delicious kinds of honey while learning about the sustainable care of these ecologically important insects.

Travel with Swan River Seaplanes, which will allow one to enjoy the scenic views of Perth while taking you to popular destinations in the region like Rottnest Island.
