SCOTLAND – The way to discover Scotland’s dramatic landscapes, secluded beaches and rivers, rugged cliffs and colourful towns is to get behind the wheel and set off on a scenic self-drive.
Scotland has about 55,000km of roads, about half of them unclassified. This means they are minor or rural roads, usually narrow and winding. That, however, is where the best scenic spots are.
