SINGAPORE – One state, 10 days and more than 150 food and drink experiences, from a Viking Age-inspired long table feast to a casual Riesling tasting with local winemakers.

All this takes place at Tasting Australia, one of the country’s longest-running food and drink festivals. In 2024, it welcomed over 78,000 visitors, with more than 100 sold-out events.

In 2025, the festival will run from May 2 to 11 in destinations across South Australia, from renowned wine-producing region Barossa Valley to fresh seafood haven Eyre Peninsula.

Its festival hub, called Town Square, is at Victoria Square in Adelaide’s city centre. Admission is free and visitors can buy hot meals from 15 F&B vendors, such as taqueria Braising Boy and burger shop Gang Gang.

Australia is abuzz with festivals throughout the year. So, if a food and drink festival is not your thing, perhaps an arts and culture event like CinefestOZ – one of the country’s premier film festivals – will be more enticing.

Held from Aug 30 to Sept 7, CinefestOZ will showcase feature and short films, as well as run workshops and activities in cinemas, wineries, restaurants and galleries across Western Australia.

And in Australian capital Canberra, Floriade – an annual celebration of springtime – will take place from Sept 13 to Oct 12 with more than one million flowers such as tulips, daisies, pansies and poppies in bloom across 4ha of the city’s Commonwealth Park.

Each year, Floriade runs between September and October with over one million blooms of multiple flower varieties.

Its 38th edition in 2025 will include family-friendly activities, art exhibitions, food and drink stations, horticultural workshops and markets. Admission to Floriade is free, while charges apply for some activities within the festival site.
