SINGAPORE – With the worst of the pandemic behind most, travel has soared – but so have flight prices.
Online travel agency Trip.com, which lists products such as flights, hotel rooms and tours, estimates that airfares have risen between 25 and 30 per cent compared with pre-pandemic rates. Higher fuel prices, staff shortages in the aviation sector and supply outstripping demand have all contributed to the spike as revenge travel surges around the world.
