If you saw those photos of wild animals taking over national parks and town centres during the lockdowns of 2020, you might think Covid-19 was a boon to animal conservation.
And in some ways, it was. The "anthropause", or lull in human activity early in the pandemic, temporarily reduced traffic, noise, pollution and other stressors on wildlife.
