COLOGNE, Germany – About 86 million counterfeit goods with an estimated net worth of €2 billion (S$2.9 billion) were seized in the European Union alone in 2022, according to the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Commission.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in the worldwide counterfeit trade. Far more items circulate, unseized.
