SINGAPORE – With Nov 11 around the corner, the travel and tourism sector is joining e-commerce giants gearing up for their annual mega sales. From this week, companies are rolling out offers on airfares, hotel stays and attractions.
For instance, Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific is offering $111 off flights to its destinations. Travellers can use the promo code SG111OFF during the airline’s 11.11 campaign from Nov 7 to 16. Redemptions are limited to the first 360 bookings. These are valid for travel between Jan 1, 2026 and June 30, 2026, with a minimum of $900 spent.
“11.11 has evolved beyond impulse shopping to become a goalpost for forward planning and purposeful spending,” says Mr Jonathan Ng, the airline’s regional head of customer travel and lifestyle for South-east Asia and Oceania. “As travellers increasingly prioritise experiences, the 11.11 sale is a key touchpoint for those planning family reunions or milestone trips.”
Travel booking platform Trip.com will have $111 discounts off flights and hotels during its campaign from Nov 11 to 14, as well as hourly flash sales on Nov 11. It describes its 11.11 promotion as “the biggest online sale of the year”.
With China emerging as a popular destination for Singapore travellers, its focus is on tailoring deals for the Singapore market. “We are actively sourcing for and incorporating more attractive deals for hotels in China, as well as package tours for Singaporeans who are looking to travel to key destinations in China,” says Mr Edmund Ong, general manager of Trip.com Singapore.

Other travel companies are also shaping their 11.11 campaigns around 2025’s booking trends.
Online travel agency Klook recorded more than 10 per cent growth in demand for Japan and more than 200 per cent growth in demand for China between January and September, compared with the same period in 2024. It will spotlight both destinations with promotions on Nov 8 and 9.
“Klook’s 11.11 approach is grounded in how Singaporeans’ travel habits are evolving,” says a spokesperson. “Travellers today are more deliberate and value-driven as they look for meaningful savings, trusted platforms and experiences that feel personal and engaging.”
Nov 11 – also known as Singles’ Day – began in China as the antithesis of Valentine’s Day, for individuals to celebrate and indulge themselves.
In 2009, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba transformed it into a commercial phenomenon with sitewide promotions – an idea that quickly caught on across industries. Today, it ranks among the largest shopping events in the world.
In 2024, Alibaba’s platform Tmall featured about 300,000 brands in its 11.11 sales campaign. While the company did not disclose total sales figures, it said 45 brands, including tech heavyweights Apple, Midea and Xiaomi, each racked up over one billion yuan (S$182 million) in online sales.
The event in 2025 is expected to be just as competitive, with travel platforms stepping up alongside retail giants to capture the attention – and spending power – of consumers. Here are five travel booking companies with 11.11 deals to look out for. Note that terms and conditions apply.

Based on the Rakuten Travel and Rakuten Insight Global’s August 2025 survey, the most popular experiences in Japan are nature getaways (69 per cent), quiet towns (47 per cent) and bustling cities (46 per cent). The survey was conducted among 3,296 Singaporean travellers aged 16 to 55.
Mr James Park, director of Rakuten Travel Singapore, says: “Travellers are not just dreaming of a vacation. They are also actively planning trips to relax and destress, and Japan is their top choice.
“Many seek calm nature getaways, quiet off-the-beaten-path towns and rejuvenating ryokan and onsen experiences for a complete reset.”
Rakuten Travel also found that the top three Japanese prefectures, based on bookings from July to September, are Hokkaido, Nagano and Yamanashi.
