Imagine this: You have just secured your air ticket, only to discover the next day that your favourite K-pop group is scheduled to perform in Singapore while you are away. As a superfan, you would rather cancel your trip than miss this once-in-a-lifetime concert.
The norm: Most travel insurance policies will not cover you for such an unexpected scenario. They typically consider basic, common emergencies such as lost luggage, travel delays or personal accidents during your trip.
The game-changer: Singlife Travel Insurance provides a safety net for curveballs that typical policies often overlook. It offers protection in ways you might not have even considered.

Need to cancel or cut short a trip? Singlife’s got you covered beyond the basics

You can choose from three plans: Travel Lite, Travel Plus and Travel Prestige. Each offers a wide spectrum of unique features designed to protect you against the unforeseen, whether they strike before you jet off or while you are already overseas. That means greater peace of mind wherever your next adventure takes you.
For travel writer Amy Van who is always on the move, basic travel insurance like Travel Lite, which covers overseas medical expenses as well as accidental death and disability, is “non-negotiable”.
She recalls how she lost her luggage during a press trip to the Swiss Alps. Unfortunately, the organiser’s insurance did not cover luggage delays or losses. “It was hard trying to manage a professional trip with just the clothes on my back and no equipment! Now I always buy Singlife's comprehensive travel insurance, even for short business trips,” she says.
While all three plans provide standard coverage for baggage loss or damage, personal accidents, overseas medical expenses and Covid-19, Travel Plus and Travel Prestige safeguard against a broader spectrum of travel uncertainties.
In a market first, Singlife offers premium plans that cover trip cancellation for any reason. This means you are protected whether a family member falls ill and you need to stay home, or even if your beloved pet gets sick. Additionally, their plans are now enhanced to include coverage for trip curtailment for any reason, allowing you to cut short your trip if necessary. These scenarios are fully covered under Singlife's comprehensive plans.
Should such situations arise, the Travel Plus and Travel Prestige plans have you covered for non-refundable or additional expenses. This includes flight tickets, hotel bookings and pre-paid attraction passes. You can make a claim through Singlife's online claim portal and provide supporting documents such as your flight itinerary or boarding pass. If necessary, the claims officer will contact you for further documents.
This is good news for frequent travellers like Ms Charmaine Chan: “I've learned the hard way that health issues can strike at any time. I once arrived in Phuket with a severe sinus infection, and on my honeymoon in Morocco, I was hit with terrible food poisoning. Thankfully, I still managed to have a good time, but if I had needed to cut my trip short, trip curtailment coverage would have been good.”

Safeguarding you from excessive rainfall, credit card fraud and more

Travel Plus and Travel Prestige also offer loss protection for frequent flyer, hotel and credit card points. If you used your points or miles to purchase the air ticket, accommodation or entry fees to attractions in full, Singlife will reimburse the equivalent of their retail prices.
Case in point: You are seriously injured just before your trip and have to cancel. If you purchased your air ticket with miles, not all is lost. Singlife considers a serious injury an insured event, potentially reimbursing you up to $20,000, depending on your plan.
But Singlife’s protection does not stop when you board the plane. Even after you have safely embarked on your holiday, unexpected circumstances can still arise and derail your plans.
Take excessive rainfall, for instance. If your outdoor adventures are washed out, forcing you to stay indoors, you might think your plans are ruined. However, Singlife Travel Insurance offers an industry-first rainfall protection. This unique feature ensures you are compensated1 even when the weather does not cooperate.
Should your credit card get stolen on your holiday, Travel Prestige allows you to claim up to $1,000 against its unauthorised use.
Even special occasions are covered. Planning your bridal shoot or wedding party overseas? If your wedding planner goes bankrupt, Singlife's unique overseas wedding and photoshoot rider covers you for the unused deposit or costs of the wedding that you cannot claim from the planner. It is a feature many couples would say “I do” to, for peace of mind.
From everyday trips to once-in-a-lifetime events, Singlife's comprehensive coverage lets you embark on your next adventure with confidence.
Plus, take advantage of this special offer: Enjoy 25 per cent off all Singlife Travel Insurance plans for a limited time. Insured members from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Officers Group Insurance Scheme can benefit from an additional 30 per cent discount.
