SINGAPORE - When Ms Nur Shahira Mohamad Rafi and Mr Abdul Mustaqim Mustafa got married in January, a recording of kompang drums, streamed on Spotify, filled the reception hall.

Mr Mustaqim, 31, felt that "a Malay wedding is not complete without kompang", but pandemic restrictions then did not allow for live music.
