Teen abortion: Grief, guilt and shame can linger for decades

SINGAPORE – Britney Spears’ recent memoir – which casts a spotlight on a young woman’s experience of abortion – has resonated with some women who faced similar situations in Singapore.

In her autobiography,

The Woman In Me, released in late October,

the 41-year-old revealed that she had terminated a pregnancy during her relationship with fellow American pop star Justin Timberlake, 42, which started in the late 1990s when they were teenagers.
