SINGAPORE - This is a new regular series featuring the latest news in watches and all things horological.

Girard-Perregaux's latest release is the Laureato Absolute Ti 230. It is so named because the luxury Swiss watchmaker was founded 230 years ago in 1791, the same year that English clergyman and amateur William Gregory discovered titanium (a chemical element with the symbol Ti) in Cornwall.
