Rye opens third store
Rye New Bahru.

Home-grown minimalist womenswear brand Rye has opened its third store and flagship boutique in lifestyle precinct New Bahru.
It is yet another meticulously designed space, reflecting founder Bessie Ye’s penchant for collecting unique pieces to merge art, design and global heritage into a retail experience.
The decor almost outshines the clothes. Upon entering, a vaulted ceiling above a checkerboard floor evokes grand Italian palazzos and the meditative silence of cathedrals, infusing the space with sombre tranquillity.

Much of the furniture is second-hand – from the Gothic vanity in the entryway to a medicine cabinet anchoring the fitting room to antique chairs sculpted from a single piece of wood by the Naga tribe in India.
Stop by for the brand’s latest Summer 2024 collection, which features cuffed Oxford shirts ($189), tailored eyelet vest tops ($189) and fluid maxi dresses ($269), or just to pick up some design inspiration for your home.

New scents from Acqua di Parma and Hermes
Acqua di Parma Luce di Rosa Eau de Parfum.

Perfumers, too, are marking this transitional period with seasonal launches. New from Acqua di Parma is the Luce di Rosa Eau de Parfum (from $220 for 20ml), a sun-drenched fragrance that captures the last light of summer.
This refreshing rose perfume is suitable for year-round wear here. It opens with a luminous citrus blend of bergamot and mandarin, elevated with spicy black pepper, pink pepper and cardamom.
At its heart is Bulgarian rose and verdant geranium, creating a clean and bright scent that settles into a pleasant mix of vetiver, guaiac wood and cedarwood.
As summer turns to autumn, reach for Barenia (from $229 for 60ml), the newest fragrance from Hermes.

The luxury house’s first chypre fragrance – characterised as warm, dry and woody – is an elegant fruity patchouli. Opening with miracle berry and bergamot, it dries down to warm oakwood and intense patchouli, for a rich, sensual finish.
Barenia was named after the heritage leather that is an Hermes signature. The bottle design, with its elliptical shape and metal plate bearing four faceted studs, is derived from the Collier de chien bracelet, another house classic.
An iconic accessory today, the bracelet was inspired by real dog collars once produced by Hermes.
Info: Acqua di Parma is available at 01-07 Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, and escentials.com hermes.com/sg/en/
