Barrel-aged fragrances from Amouage

Amouage The Essences.

The Omani luxury perfume house’s latest collection gives scents the whiskey treatment.

The Essences ($600 for 100ml) was developed using a unique double-infusion process. The concentrate for each scent was infused with Australian sandalwood chips, while the bioethanol in which the concentrate is diluted was aged in handmade oakwood barrels for six months.

The collection personifies the passing of time through scent. Reasons (past) is woody and spicy with green and nutty notes, Lustre (present) is creamy orris and sandalwood, while Outlands (future) is a woody, ambery fragrance with potent pops of cardamom and vanilla.

The flacons encasing the perfumes are in themselves a first for Amouage and a departure from the signature bottle. Composed of glass covered with sand-coloured ceramic, they feature elegant, sculpted ridges that echo the shifting sands of the Omani landscape.

For the 2025 Spring-Summer season, Longchamp takes you on a walk in the garden.

The collection titled Live Green draws inspiration from the rural landscape and the idea of returning home to be with loved ones, to slow down from the stress of the city. There are playful gingham prints, timeless checks and bold colours borrowed from vegetables, which update the French fashion brand’s signature Le Roseau bag (from $630).

Longchamp takes pastoral charm to the next level with a cheeky artichoke print in blush and olive that adorns its iconic Le Pliage collection.

Wear it on the new Le Pliage M Shoulder Bag ($595) that features an adjustable bow handle, or the darling Le Pliage XS Pouch ($350) that is a perfect pop of colour.
