SINGAPORE – Sakura season is in full bloom, as evidenced by the hordes of tourists who have descended upon Japan in search of the pink blossoms.

Yet, according to a survey by travel booking site Klook, three in five Singapore travellers end up missing cherry blossoms despite timing their trips around them.

Capitalising on the global love for these ephemeral flowers, fashion and beauty brands have taken to releasing limited-edition merchandise decorated with the gentle blooms. And just like the actual sakura, these are around for only a short time.

Missed the real deal or simply grounded at home, and want a taste of springtime? The Straits Times rounds up the most charming sakura-themed products.

For minimalists, there is also the brand’s Ripple Case in a new Primrose Pink ($85), made from silicone.

Should you prefer something more subtle, the collection also includes Casetify’s classic accessories in the same prints. Charms ($57) round out the selection.

Guerlain

Guerlain Cherry Blossom Bee Bottle ($1,300).

PHOTO: GUERLAIN

Inspired by the treasured Japanese practice of hanami (“flower viewing” in Japanese), Guerlain has introduced a new limited and numbered edition of its Cherry Blossom fragrance ($1,300 for 125ml).

Each year, the French luxury beauty brand invites prestigious artists to collaborate on an interpretation of its exquisite Bee Bottle. For 2025, it has called upon Paris-trained South Korean painter Taein Song.

Centred on three symbolic colours – white to evoke last winter’s snowfall, the pink of the present but fleeting sakura and green to announce the arrival of summer – each bloom is hand-painted.

Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette is a floral fragrance brought to life by green tea accord, sparkling bergamot, cherry blossom, powdered lilac accord, jasmine and white musk notes.

With pink the colour of the season, men can get in on the floral fun too with Swatch’s new Blossom Time collection, which features four floral-inspired watches that are far from feminine.

Each watch is a tribute to a flower – camellia (Petal Charm, pink), magnolia (Petal Bliss, silver), crocus (Petal Frenzy, blue) and gerbera (Petal Swirl, yellow) – which lend their colours to the engraved designs on the sun-brushed dials.

L’Occitane

L’Occitane’s Cherry Blossom Visite en Provence Limited Edition collection.

PHOTO: L’OCCITANE

The French beauty brand pays homage not to the cherry blossoms of Japan, but rather those of Provence, France. The Cherry Blossom Visite en Provence Limited Edition collection takes inspiration from springtime in the small village of Venasque in Provence, where cherry blossoms and wisteria flowers bloom.

An elegant pink print adorns the Body Lotion ($53), Shower Gel ($38) and Hand Cream ($18) – all of which gently perfume the skin with a fresh scent of grapes, magnolia and soft musk.
