Rave: Studio Gypsied tells stories of Nusantara women through batik

Aqilah Zailan uses batik to tell stories under her ethical fashion label Studio Gypsied. This video series Rave, produced in partnership with IMDA, features young, up-and-coming fashion designers based in Singapore.

SINGAPORE - For some, batik is just another textile used in fashion. For designer Nur Aqilah Zailan, it is a grounding pillar of her identity.

The 33-year-old behind conscious batik fashion label Studio Gypsied (studiogypsied.com) works with female batik artisans in Indonesia to craft apparel and bags.
