genKRU Live In Singapore
KRU, one of Malaysia’s most successful pop groups, are back on stage after a seven-year hiatus.
The band of brothers – Norman, Yusry and Edry Abdul Halim – recently played a string of sold-out concerts in Malaysia and are bringing the show to Singapore.
Formed in 1992, their blend of pop, hip-hop and R&B led to several hits in the 1990s, such as Jangan Lafazkan (Don’t Say It, 1999), as well as multiple awards including Anugerah Industri Muzik 1995’s Best Pop Album for their third album, Awas (1994).
The trio built the KRU brand into an entertainment empire that spans music, film and live events. They also wrote and produced hits for other popular music acts such as Anita Sarawak and Anuar Zain.
The group disbanded in 2018, but reunited in 2024 and released their 15th album, Kaset, in April.

Singaporean rapper-producer Mary Sue, backed by five-piece band Clementi Sound Appreciation Club, will celebrate the release of their new album Porcelain Shield, Paper Sword with this concert.
Featuring a heady mix of hip-hop, jazz, blues and elements of South-east Asian music, the show promises a blend of live instrumentations and samples.
Mary Sue says in a statement that the record was inspired by him being moved when the hymn Amazing Grace was played with suona, flutes and Taoist drums at his grandfather’s Taoist funeral.
“The sound of Porcelain Shield, Paper Sword is about sitting with that feeling. Letting the tension between worlds be felt. Finding meaning in the clash and maybe a refuge in between,” he says.
The gig will also feature supporting acts: Singaporean experimental rock outfit sub:shaman and Malaysian hip-hop act Glazed Baguette and his collective, Blanco Music.
The show is part of the Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Series.

Jason Derulo – Nu King World Tour – Live In Singapore
American R&B star Jason Derulo is playing his first concert in Singapore.

He might be a TikTok star these days. But, for many, Jason Derulo is the singer behind club-friendly pop hits such as Whatcha Say (2009), Want To Want Me (2015) and Savage Love (2020).
Fans here can finally experience these tunes live, as the show will be his first concert in Singapore.
Originally scheduled for March 20 at Arena @ Expo, the gig was rescheduled to June 25 at The Star Theatre due to what organiser LAMC cites as “unforeseen circumstances”.
Born Jason Joel Desrouleaux, the singer found success early with debut single Whatcha Say, a pop-R&B hybrid that sampled British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap’s 2005 song Hide And Seek and went to No. 1 on the US Billboard singles chart.
In 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdowns, Derulo started posting clips on TikTok, creating content that mixed dancing, humour and viral challenges.
