Rosacea can worsen with age, but there are ways to manage it

Scientists are not entirely sure what causes rosacea or why it intensifies as you get older, but they have some theories.

If you have rosacea, you might notice that by the time you reach your 40s or 50s, your symptoms have got worse, said Dr Julie C. Harper, a dermatologist in Birmingham, Alabama.
Frequent flushing, acne-like breakouts and dilated blood vessels are symptoms of the condition, which affects more than 14 million people in the United States.
