SINGAPORE – When motorcycling was my primary mode of commuting some 40 years ago, I used to turn up my nose at “kap chai” uncles – elderly riders on their unfashionable and underpowered Honda Cubs, colloquially known as “little cubs”.
I rode tall and rugged scramblers, two-wheeled equivalents of the modern sport utility vehicle.
