Vmoto motorcycles with battery swopping
Vmoto, an electric motorcycle brand based in Perth, Australia, will be launched in Singapore in the second quarter of 2025. The range will start with the Citi and CPX.
Both electric scooters use swoppable batteries, so there is no need to wait for hours for the spent batteries to be recharged. The motorcycles are manufactured in Nanjing, China.
The CPX, which is the more powerful of the two, has a top speed of 90kmh. The Citi maxes out at 80kmh.
Vmoto will be represented by Evotion Labs, a company backed by Mah, an established motorcycle distributor that carries brands such as Kawasaki from Japan, Bimota from Italy and Sym from Taiwan.
Evotion Labs is already selling Niu, an electric motorcycle brand from China, which also has battery-swopping technology. Evotion Labs’ spokesman said Niu and Vmoto motorcycles will be able to use the company’s battery charge and swop stations.
The company was awarded the licence from the Land Transport Authority earlier in December to offer the battery-swopping service to individuals, instead of being limited to fleet-owning companies.
There are now three swopping stations – one in Serangoon Road at Mah’s flagship showroom and workshop, another in One-North Crescent where technology company Razer is located and the third at 351 Braddell Road.
It will cost up to $8 to exchange a battery for a fully-charged one from the self-service station, depending on how much charge is left in the existing battery. Vmoto electric motorcycles are expected to cost from $7,300 without certificate of entitlement.

SP Mobility’s electric vehicle (EV) charging application now shows the battery charging status when users are using its DC charging service. Introduced in mid-December, the app will enable users to track the state of charge and the estimated remaining time.
The provider announced in November a rewards programme, in which users can use points earned during charging to offset their next bill.

Capella Auto, the distributor for Alfa Romeo and Jeep, has moved the showrooms for the two brands to the Komoco Motors Building at 30 Leng Kee Road, where Maserati is housed. The location at 1 Chang Charn Road has been vacated. Sales and service operations are unchanged.
The Alfa Romeo showroom in Chang Charn Road was set up after Capella took over the distributorship in April 2023, while Jeep had been there since 2010. The building is owned by Orchard Credit, which also operates a used car dealership.
