Nissan turns over a new Leaf
Charge ahead: Nissan will launch three EVs, including the third-generation Leaf, as part of its latest product strategy.

The third-generation Nissan Leaf was announced on March 26 as one of three electric vehicles (EVs) that the Japanese carmaker is planning to launch by 2026.
For the first time, the Leaf will be a crossover instead of a five-door hatchback as in the previous generations.
The car will use the platform that underpins the Ariya, an EV that has been on sale since 2022 and available in Singapore since 2024. More details on the Leaf are expected in mid-2025.
Besides the Leaf, the Micra – known as the March in Singapore – and Juke compact crossover will be introduced in Europe in EV form.

The e:N1 is the first electric Honda to be officially offered in Indonesia and Thailand. Known as the e:Ny1 in the UK, the crossover EV is based on the familiar HR-V. It has a single 150kW motor, powered by a 68.8kW battery, giving it an operating range of 412km under the WLTP test cycle.
Malaysia is reported to be launching the e:N1 soon, according to media reports. When contacted, the spokesperson for Honda’s Singapore agent, Kah Motor, said there would be an EV expected in the local line-up, although there is no official information of the e:N1 for Singapore yet.

From March 28, a BMW X2 and a 216i Gran Coupe will be available for booking on the car-sharing platform, GetGo.
The cars will be parked at the designated lots at the BMW showroom at 303 Alexandra Road through a partnership between Performance Motors Limited (PML) and GetGo.
PML’s service customers will get special discount codes to book the cars while their own BMWs are being serviced.
In its media statement on March 27, PML said it will be looking at adding more models and location to the GetGo app in the coming months.
Electric SUV pick-up hybrid
Premium truckin’: The Deepal E07 has a retractable rear windscreen that conceals a rugged loading bed.

On display at the new Deepal showroom at 281 Alexandra Road are the S05 and E07. Both models are slated to be introduced here within 2025, according to Mr Shen Xing Hua, managing director of Changan Auto Southeast Asia. He was in Singapore for the launch of the Deepal brand and its first model, the S07.
Changan Automobile is a Chinese car manufacturer that created the Deepal electric vehicle brand in 2022. It plans to expand the local portfolio to six models by 2028.
The E07 is part-sport utility vehicle (SUV), part-pick-up. Its sloping rear windscreen can be retracted to reveal a hardy loading bay. However, it will not be classified as a commercial vehicle but as a private car, according to Mr Lee Hoe Lone, managing director of Premium Automobiles who is representing Deepal in Singapore.
The S05, in contrast, is a decidedly more conventional EV, rivalling the likes of the BYD Atto 3. The compact SUV was launched in Thailand at the Bangkok Motor Show on March 26, with a 175kW motor.
The version for Singapore, though, will have the output tuned to fit under the power threshold for Category A certificate of entitlement.
