Electric compact SUV MGS5 replaces ZS
The MGS5 is known as the MG ES5 in China.

The MGS5 is the replacement of the ZS electric sport utility vehicle (SUV). Pitched against rivals like the Hyundai Kona, the new model is based on the MG4 electric car, inheriting the rear-wheel-drive format of the hatchback.
While MG provided only a teaser image of the new car on its European websites ahead of its official debut later in March, the car is essentially the export version of the MG ES5, which was launched in China in 2024.
The new car measures 4,476mm long, 46mm more than the ZS, and is larger than combustion-engine rivals like the Honda HR-V (4,355mm) and the electric Hyundai Kona (4,350mm). The MGS5 is among the models slated for launch in Singapore in 2025 as part of the brand’s push for greater market share.

The convertible Mini is back, now known as the Cooper Convertible. Launched on March 7 with a rooftop party at the Mini showroom, the new car’s soft top takes 20 seconds to fully retract.
As with the previous generation of the car, the top can be set to open partially, working like a sunroof. A cheeky Always Open Timer app will record how long the car is used in convertible mode.
The Cooper Convertible S, which has a 2-litre engine and 205hp, is priced at $285,888 with certificate of entitlement.
EV charging with a side of grooming
SP Mobility joins forces with P.Up to offer standard and mobile charging services for electric vehicles.

Drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) can switch between using SP Mobility’s network of over 2,000 chargers and mobile charging, car grooming and emergency recovery services by P.Up through a new partnership launched on March 4.
Four prepaid packages are available, based on estimated monthly mileage, starting at $119 a month, which include credits for SP Mobility charging and mobile charging service.
After booking a slot, P.Up will send a mobile charging van to deliver a one-hour charge or up to 80 per cent of the EV’s battery capacity. During that time, the EV can also be groomed.
Both mobile charging and rescue services extend to Malaysia, although local terms and conditions apply. Find out more at p-up.tech/sp-up
