SINGAPORE – Some 30 years ago, I drove a car which unexpectedly took my breath away. It was a hatchback called the Volkswagen (VW) Golf VR6.
By then, I had already driven sporty cars such as the Nissan 200SX, the Porsche 968 and Honda’s first NSX, so I remember being surprised that a nondescript hatch could have such an effect.
