SINGAPORE – Chinese carmakers move fast. The previously English MG brand, which became Chinese-owned in 2007, restarted in Singapore with the HS compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) in 2020. Instead of making marginal tweaks to the car, MG rolled out the next-generation HS in 2025 that looks and feels quite different.
So focused is MG on speed that the distributor here did not wait for the Luxury version of the new HS to be available before introducing the car at the Singapore Motorshow in January. That fully equipped version of the HS is expected to arrive in the next few months.
