SINGAPORE - To mark her milestone 50th birthday in January, Ms Siti Haslinda Putri Harun's husband gave her a rooftop garden makeover.

He replaced the terracotta tiles on the roof of their three-storey home in the east with artificial turf. He added five ponds with water lilies, encased in tubs, and four hydroponics systems.
