SINGAPORE - The Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS), conceived more than two decades ago by Singapore's national water agency PUB, is a superhighway for used water that is a lifeline for a small city-state with a growing urban population.
It harvests water from residential blocks, commercial properties and industrial estates and recycles it to meet Singapore's long-term needs for used water collection, treatment, reclamation and disposal.
