SINGAPORE - While others saw a ramshackle house in Katong that was ready for the wrecking ball, Mr Jack Sim - also known as Mr Toilet - saw endless possibilities.

The founder of the World Toilet Organization, who is also a passionate advocate for preserving all things heritage, says he could not bear the thought of losing a slice of local history to redevelopment and decided to buy the decrepit house.
