SINGAPORE – When Mr Goh Rhay Gynn was in secondary school, he received his first film camera from his grandfather – a Yashica point-and-shoot. 

Even though smartphones had already become the camera of choice for many Singaporeans by that point, Mr Goh, now 26, found that photographs from a film camera had a quality that digital snaps could not replicate.
