SINGAPORE – Australian luxury furniture brand King Living has launched its King Cinema Premiere Recliner collection, designed to transform living rooms into an immersive home cinema.

The new collection allows users to choose from a combination of high-tech options that are said to support the spine while in a reclining position for extended periods of time.

With more people around the world subscribing to streaming platforms such as Netflix and Prime Video, King Living has expanded its range of furniture to include an automated sofa design that goes from sitting to reclining at the touch of a button.

King Living’s founder David King says the new line of modular sofas is designed for a luxury entertainment experience in the comfort of one’s home and guided by “sofa science”.

“King Cinema represents a new level of comfort and innovation where customers can create their own personal cinema experience without leaving the living room,” said Mr King on Nov 25 at the global product launch.

The King Cinema Premiere Recliner collection’s patented TouchGlide automated control feature allows users to swipe a series of buttons near the armrest to change the position of the headrest, as well as activate the footrest to go from a sitting position to a more relaxed, reclining posture.

The hydraulics that move the automated features seamlessly is powered by the award-winning King Postureflex Seating System. This comprises a solid steel frame, backed by a 25-year warranty, and which includes KingCell pocketed springs with high-resilience foam for softness and durability.

Enhanced safety features include guarded moving parts, an infrared auto-stop and anti-pinch sleeves within the footrest, ensuring seamless changing of reclining positions.

Another nifty feature is Smart Pockets, which are integrated into the armrests and which offer convenient storage for remotes and devices.

There is also a pop-up media console which discreetly stores mobile devices, remotes and cables to keep the living room clutter-free.

From a single-seater for small families to a larger five-seater, the collection’s modular design allows users flexibility of not only budget, but also to fit any living space as lifestyles evolve.

The collection comes in a wide range of premium fabrics and European leathers that can be removed for easy cleaning or replacement.

King Living was founded in 1977 by interior decorator Gwen King and her son David in Sydney. It now has about 1,300 employees and over 30 showrooms across Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, China, Canada, the United States and Britain.

The brand has been in Singapore since 2015 and has a 13,000 sq ft flagship showroom at Hong Aik Building in Kallang Avenue.
