The second Phalaenopsis Flower Show, organised by home-grown garden centre retailer Far East Flora, is back from Oct 4 to 12.

Besides floral displays, shoppers will be treated to fun, hands-on activities. These experiences are part of the Colours Of Phalaenopsis Flower Show – 60 Years In Bloom celebrations to mark the company’s six decades in business.

On the opening weekend from Oct 4 to 5, more than 100 phalaenopsis orchid varieties will be showcased in five floral zones, including two special showcases.

The first showcase, titled Far East Flora X Ngee Ann Polytechnic – Phalaenopsis Design Challenge, sees young horticultural talent present trendy interpretations of phalaenopsis orchids in the form of floral arrangements. Each arrangement is an exploration of colour, mood and personal flair, offering a glimpse into futuristic floral designs. In the Colours Of Taiwan show, visitors will view an array of world-renowned Taiwanese phalaenopsis orchids.

Info: The show is held at Far East Flora Centre, 435 Clementi Road. Admission is free. Visitors will be treated to free flower balloons and floral face painting. There are also do-it-yourself floral workshops. To register, go to

Green-House, Singapore’s first and largest sustainability-led retail festival, returns on Nov 8 and 9 for its fourth iteration at the festival’s new home – the newly relaunched Temasek Shophouse in Orchard Road.

The festival’s mission has expanded from environmental sustainability to also focus on social inclusion.

There will be nine immersive zones reimagining urban homes that are kind to people and the planet; more than 80 partners and brands shaping the future of sustainable living; and over 40 free workshops and activities designed to inspire creativity and action.

What began as a pop-up in 2022 at Figment co-living shophouses now enters a new phase of growth.

The 2025 headline showcase is by Mercedes-Benz, which will unveil the marque’s first life-size 3D-printed G-class, created from 40,531 discarded plastic bottles by Hong Kong multidisciplinary studio Editecture.

More than a visual centrepiece, the installation is also a proof of concept – envisioning waste as resource, sparking conversations about circular systems, regional collaboration and collective responsibility.

Info: Admission is free. To register, go to

Correction note: In an earlier version of the story, it was reported that 7,000 visitors attended the Green-House festival in 2024. It should be 17,000 visitors.
