SINGAPORE - There has been much ado about fried rice since London-based Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng - better known as Uncle Roger - scathingly reviewed BBC Food presenter's Hersha Patel's method of cooking egg fried rice on his YouTube channel.

Since that video went viral in July, he has done more searing fried rice commentaries. One included taking apart celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's version that uses chilli jam. He was, however, more approving of chef Gordon Ramsay's fairly authentic rendition of spicy fried rice cooked in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
