While high-end Japanese restaurants are all the rage now, with wait lists that stretch into months, they are not my idea of everyday dining.
I enjoy them as an occasional treat, but too many omakase meals that drag on for three hours or more can be tiring. Plus, with more than 10 courses as the norm, I tend to overeat.
