SINGAPORE – Ahead of the Asia’s 50 Best Bars ceremony on July 16, the fourth edition of the 51-100 list has been released, with mixed results for Singapore.
Though Singapore had the most entrants of any Asian city – eight in total – a number of these had fallen significantly in position compared with their performances in 2023.
For instance, Republic at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, slipped from No. 16 on 2023’s top 50 list to No. 57 on 2024’s 51-100 list.
Following closely behind it were No Sleep Club at No. 60 (up from No. 74), Stay Gold Flamingo at No. 63 (down from No. 32), The Elephant Room at No. 65 (down from No. 64) and Manhattan at No. 69 (down from No. 21).
Cat Bite Club in Duxton Road made its debut at No. 77, with 28 HongKong Street right behind at No. 78 – down from No. 24.

Last Word in Purvis Street rounded up the list at No. 93, down from No. 61.
Among the other Asian metropolises, Bangkok had the second-best showing on the list after Singapore, with six entrants. Its highest-ranking bar in the 51-100 list was Tropic City at No. 62, which fell more than 50 places from No. 6 in 2023.
Tokyo had five bars in the rankings, with new entrant Tokyo Confidential debuting at No. 53.
The Asia’s 50 Best Bars list has been published since 2016, and is based on votes by Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy – an Asia-based group of 265 industry professionals that includes bartenders, bar owners, drinks writers, educators and cocktail aficionados.
Eleven Singapore bars made the top 50 list in 2023, including Jigger & Pony at Amara Hotel in second place, while eight bars made the 51-100 list.
The 2024 rankings will be announced in Hong Kong on July 16. The ceremony will be live-streamed from 8.25pm (Hong Kong and Singapore time) on the 50 Best social media channels, including YouTube.
