SINGAPORE – The Weeknd fans in Singapore can watch his immersive music video for new song Open Hearts on Apple Vision Pro for free at Apple Stores in Jewel Changi Airport, Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sands.
Billed as the first of its kind, the 5min 47sec cinematic video is filmed in a high-resolution, 180-degree media format that makes viewers feel like they are part of the action.
The visuals feel life-like, and the experience is like having the singer-songwriter perform right in front of you. Viewers will also be able to see the scenes around them as they move their head.
A collaboration between Apple and the Canadian pop star, the music video is available only on Apple Vision Pro for now. Those who own the Apple Vision Pro can also watch it on the device’s Apple TV app.
Open Hearts is the fourth single from The Weeknd’s upcoming sixth album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. While he has dropped three other singles in recent months – Dancing In The Flames, Timeless and Sao Paulo – the album release date has not been announced.
The Open Hearts video, featuring the 34-year-old in scenes inspired by the Los Angeles skyline, is directed by Finnish film-maker and photographer Anton Tammi. He also directed the music video for Dancing In The Flames, which was shot on an iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Apple’s vice-president of marketing communications Tor Myhren says in a statement: “This is an exciting leap forward in how music and technology come together to deliver memorable experiences for fans, and we’re proud to collaborate with The Weeknd to make it happen.”
The viewing sessions at Apple Stores also include a demo of the Apple Vision Pro. To register for a viewing slot, go to str.sg/eg6F
Apple is also set to release a live music series on Nov 22 on Apple Vision Pro, Concert For One, with a performance by Brit Award-winning English singer-songwriter Raye.
