SINGAPORE – On-screen terror will be taken off-screen this Halloween in a new live show at theme park Universal Studios Singapore (USS) at Resorts World Singapore (RWS), which brings American producer Jason Blum’s famous horror flicks to life.
Blumhouse: Fear Lives Here is part of USS Halloween Horror Nights 13, which will be held on selected dates from Sept 26 to Nov 1.
It is the annual Halloween event’s first collaboration with American film production company Blumhouse Productions, founded by Blum.
Blumhouse: Fear Lives Here is a projection mapping show which will transform the castle facade with scenes from The Purge series (2013 to present), Happy Death Day (2017 and 2019), The Black Phone (2021 to present) and M3GAN (2022 to present). The show will be accompanied by an original cinematic score.
The cinematic experience will continue at Blumhouse Bar, involving sets inspired by the movies. Guests can steel their nerves with themed cocktails while capturing photos destined to haunt social media feeds.
Expect to see the viral dance routine from M3GAN’s titular artificial intelligence-driven killer doll, and have close encounters with other gruesome characters that have redefined modern horror.
“Blumhouse’s reputation as a horror juggernaut has drawn a dedicated following across the world. This collaboration is a coming together of some of the best minds of horror to translate what guests see on the big screen into very real, terrifying experiences,” said Mr Markham Gannon, senior director of entertainment at RWS.
Blumhouse president Abhijay Prakash added: “Blumhouse has always had a passionate fan base in South-east Asia, and we’re thrilled to finally have a direct way to engage with them through Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights.
“This marks an exciting milestone as we expand our global footprint in location-based entertainment and connect more meaningfully with audiences who’ve embraced our films for years.”
Halloween Horror Nights 13’s other highlights include live shows such as Dare Or Die Live! and Once Upon A Time... To Die and two scare zones – The Fearground and The Realm Of Yokai.
There will also be haunted houses such as those inspired by Netflix series Stranger Things (2016 to present), the Death Whisperer movies (2023 to present) from Thailand and Chinese online novel The Unruly Immortals.
