LOS ANGELES - The premise of the dystopian science-fiction thriller Songbird might cut a bit close to the bone for some: It is the year 2024 and Covid-19 has mutated into a deadlier form, with most of the United States now in lockdown and the infected packed off to quarantine camps.
The movie, produced by Michael Bay (Armageddon, 1998) and opening in Singapore cinemas on Jan 21, was also the first Hollywood film shot during the lockdown in the United States last year (2020).
