SINGAPORE – Grammy-winning rapper and singer Doja Cat will play her first show in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Dec 10. Pre-sale tickets will be available from Sept 1 while general ticket sales commence on Sept 5.
The concert is part of the American music star’s Ma Vie world tour, which also includes dates in New Zealand and Australia, as well as Asian cities Bangkok, Kaohsiung, Manila, Seoul and Tokyo.
The 29-year-old, whose music traverses genres ranging from hip-hop to pop to R&B, is best known for hits such as Kiss Me More, a 2021 duet with American singer SZA which won a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Doja Cat released her debut song at the age of 16 on music streaming site SoundCloud, but it was only in 2018 that she made her name after her song Mooo! went viral on social media.
Her debut album Amala dropped in 2018, and she followed it up with Hot Pink (2019), Planet Her (2021) and Scarlet (2023).
Her 2020 single Say So was also a major hit, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts after it spawned a viral TikTok dance.
Besides the Grammy, Doja Cat’s list of accolades includes five wins at the American Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards and five MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2022 Billboard Women In Music awards, she won the Powerhouse Award, given to female artistes who dominated streaming, sales and radio plays.
In 2023, Time magazine included her in its Time 100 list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
On Aug 21, she released her latest single Jealous Type, a funk-pop and disco-pop tune off her upcoming fifth album Vie, which is set to be released on Sept 26.
