SINGAPORE – Theme park Universal Studios Singapore will once again bring a terrifying K-drama to life.
At the 12th edition of its annual scare-fest Halloween Horror Nights, which will run on selected nights from Sept 27 to Nov 2, a haunted house based on the Netflix hit Sweet Home (2020 to present) will be part of the fearsome line-up.
This is the theme park’s third collaboration with the streaming service. It previously staged haunted houses based on the global hit zombie series
Sweet Home is an apocalyptic series about the residents of the Green Home apartment complex, after the world is ravaged by monsters which kill and injure humans. It is led by South Korean actor Song Kang, who plays Cha Hyun-su, a man who becomes a monster-human hybrid. The third and final season premieres on Netflix on July 19.
The Sweet Home-themed house at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights promises to immerse visitors in the terror of the series and will recreate key locations like Hyun-su’s apartment and the basement in the Green Home complex.
Mr Markham Gannon, director of entertainment at Resorts World Sentosa, home to Universal Studios Singapore, says: “Every haunted house experience is our creative spin on the source material while staying true to its essence, and Sweet Home is no exception.
“Korean horror is something that resonates well with our fans and we can’t wait to take Halloween Horror Nights to new, frightful heights.”
Tickets go on sale from Aug 13 at www.rwsentosa.com/hhn12 and prices have yet to be announced.
