SINGAPORE - What do the South Korean drama series Itaewon Class, romance comedy True Beauty and revenge thriller Taxi Driver have in common?

They are all adapted from Web comics, more commonly known as webtoons in South Korea. As K-dramas grow more popular globally, productions are increasingly turning to webtoons for source material. Webtoons often feature creative storylines and their in-built fan bases are also a plus for producers.
